When the sun peeks out
Irene and Raffaello are from Lucca. They've breathed this air since childhood, and absorbed the slow rhythms of a city that knows how to live well. In the hills around Lucca, Diana, an abandoned little dog, found them one spring day among the daisies.
Then, like many young Italians, they left — on a snowy day, with an old Toyota Yaris and Diana tucked among the suitcases. Work calls, the world is big, and Lucca — waits.
Their roots waited for them for years, while they were in Brussels — the city that gave them many opportunities, where life moves fast, the sun is a rare guest, and Italy's warmth becomes something you start to miss.
It was there that the desire became a plan: to have a place in Lucca of their own, answering the call of home.
"Fare Capolino"
In Italian, this expression is used when the sun appears between the clouds — shy at first, then brighter and brighter. It's the good weather returning after a storm.
It's the feeling Irene and Raffaello recognise every time they open Casa Capolino's door: something reopening, resurfacing, coming back into the light.
And it's no coincidence that capolino is also the heart of the sunflower — their favourite flower. The one that always follows the sun.

The house
Within the historic walls, in a corner that brings together centrality and quiet, you'll find Casa Capolino. Just a few steps from the walls and Via Fillungo, you meet a silence and peace that only those who grew up here know how precious they are.
The attic, with its beamed ceiling and original floors, is memory resurfacing. Contemporary furnishings inhabit it with care, bridging past tradition and present comfort. And on the terrace — with Lucca's rooftops within reach — time returns to how it should be: slow, with a cappuccino in hand and the sun on your face.
The experience
For Irene and Raffaello, sharing Casa Capolino is an act of affection. It means passing on what they've built — the result of hard work and dedication.
That's why every guest can experience Lucca like a friend: dinner at Trattoria da Giulio in Pelleria, where you eat the way you used to. Aperitivo at Ciclo DiVino. A walk along the walls. A stroll down Via Fillungo. Outdoor yoga and pilates sessions. The sea in Viareggio, the mountains of Garfagnana.
Casa Capolino is ideal for anyone looking for well-deserved rest.
For anyone who wants to live Lucca from the inside. For anyone who, like Irene and Raffaello, doesn't know what comes after the next bend in the road. But knows there's a terrace waiting, a good cappuccino, and the sun peeking out.
Your moment in Lucca is waiting.
